mono print

I did these mono prints with a lino sencil ,i had to warm the lino in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more pliable and easier to cut out the stencil because it makes it softer ,after i cut out the stencil i applied acylic paint to stencil with a printing roller then pressed it on to a sheet of paper,it worked ok i just wanted a result quickly thy look good on the red paper .

I created my on pattern useing photoshop by making my own paint brush then croping the image down it then became the paintbucket for the background and became a repeating pattern ,it looked really good i got lots of different effects with my new paintbrushes here are my examples.

Potatoe printing

These are my potatoe block prints as you can see im quite messy at this,its a easy printing method for any age group ,after a few prints i got inpatient with the process.How i did it i cut a potatoe in half then designed a shape for carving then used fabric paint to print i did not use fabric at this time,just a bit of paper.results a bit rough and not accurate.

 This is a piece of fabric i had at home i really like the complex patterns on this, i used this for a multiculral project ,when you hold it its quite silky and transparent.

In textiles we were given a bit of wallpaper to look at the repeating pattern,i really liked the style of this how the prints laid out and has a beuty icon all over it ,it brings a little bit of hollywood to you room .

This is the work that me and michelle did on photoshop ,it was all experimental we did layering it took a while to understand but we cracked it in the end.I think they worked pretty well ,i like how the colours mix when you keep putting new layers on top of each other heres our master pieces.

Today i have been useing photoshop ,it was pretty cool learning new things on the computer you can do really cool things ,changeing pictures adding colour,also drawing ive got my work on a different post i still have not sussed getting my pictures from my email ,i will suss this computer thingy.

Today i researched wall paper diagrams,i have not got round to putting a visual on this but heres the info.
A wallpaper diagram or a plane symmetry group or plane crystallographic is a mathmatical classification
of two dimensional repetitive pattern,based on the symmetries in the pattern such patterns occur frquently in architecture.

morning glory

this morning i was up early to go and finish a piece for my latest college asignment, over to the grave yard i went with camera in hand, the light was that mid winter mix of red's purple's and yellow's , all inspired i set about creating naturally inspired shapes from the flora lying all about on the ground,.

 As far as textiles go's i am working on my repeating patern from flora and fauna and her is a picture of work so far

i found these on a wallpaper website called wallpaper direct and thought they would make a really pretty silk screen print although i would have to tweek the pattern slightly to make it my own.

Finally after lots of messing around i finally worked out how to set and use my pass words and email address so this is a massive leap into the dark so please be patient with me .
 
   I found these images of work by Jocelyn Warner on the net that i found inspiration for my repeating pattern project at college, the floral designs are bold and really stand out ,they would really brighten up any wall and make it a real feature,

Jocelyn has always had an interest in the design world. Growing up in a 1960's house designed by her architect father and filled with fabrics and furniture by John Piper, Lucienne and Robin Day whetted her appetite for textiles, modernist design, repeated structures and pattern.
